Some type of human settlement has been present in the Milan area for thousands of years, and the archeological findings date back to 222 BC. However, at one point, Milan was the capital of the Western Roman Empire. Throughout the antiquity, the Middle Ages, and later, Milan prospered greatly because of its dominant position in mainland Italy. While the city was devastated during the Second World War, it recovered and saw a massive economic boom that was responsible for its significant growth and expansion. It is easy to reach and going around the city in a tour bus is a flexible and comfortable way to explore Milan.

  1. Milan Cathedral

Milan Cathedral is a truly magnificent structure, renowned for its exquisite architecture, and has taken more than 600 years to complete. Situated in the center of Milan, in Piazza del Duomo, the cathedral was built in 1386 but not officially completed until 1965. In an Italian Gothic style, the front façade of the cathedral is absolutely impressive and adorned in numerous towers, sculptures and decorations. The interior is just as decorative and includes several stunning colorful stained glass windows; in addition, between the central columns, there is a wonderful display of artwork and some finely detailed sculptures. Irro Charter’s bus company will be happy to provide you with a transfer from your hotel to the cathedral and back
  2. Duomo

The Duomo of Milan is not yet another cathedral. It's the most significant symbol of the city in the middle of it all. Construction on this magnificent Gothic cathedral started at the end of the 14th century and lasted hundreds of years (it is not uncommon to see scaffolding on the façade or on the back of the church as construction is still underway). Although there's plenty to see inside the cathedral, a visit to the top – via stairs or an elevator – is an absolute must to see Milan's evolving skyline, with the old and the modern coming together.
  3. Church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie

This church can be located on the Corso Magenta and is situated on the opposite side of Milan to the Duomo. Within the building is one of the greatest architectural masterpieces in the world – Leonardo di Vinci's Last Supper. Hailed as a magnificent work of art, this mural portrays the scene of the Last Supper as mentioned in the Bible. Through the years, this piece of art has been studied and analyzed for its secret meanings and content. Board your chartered bus and have your driver transfer you safely to this fantastic work of art and marvel at the detail and significance of this iconic depiction.
  4. Pinacoteca di Brera

Located in the Palazzo Brera, the Pinacoteca is a fine art gallery with a wide collection of Italian art. In earlier years, the palace served as a monastery and as a national library and was not turned into a museum until the 19th century. Within the gallery, you can find works such as the Marriage of the Virgin by Raphael, Pieta by Bellini, the Last Supper by Rubens and the Adoration of the Magi by Correggio. Our chartered bus can take you there.
  5. Grand Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

When you step into the Grand Gallery, you might think you were standing inside the entrance hall of an opera house or a castle – not a shopping center. Yet this is basically what the Galleria is – an incredibly opulent and luxurious indoor shopping center. Completed in 1877, it is one of the oldest shopping malls in the world and designed by Guiseppe Mengoni. The cross-shaped mall is enclosed by four glass paneled arms that let the sun shine beautifully, while the walls and shop fronts are adorned with ornate paneling and stucco artw. 8. Sant Ambrogio

This ancient building is one of the oldest in Milan, built in 379 AD by St. Ambrose. With a simple Romanesque design, the architecture of this church has not changed much since its construction and the city of Milan was founded around it, as it served as a focal point for the local population. Two large towers frame the front façade and a central courtyard frame a series of ornate arches. Due to its age, the interior of the church features some beautiful mosaics and artwork, including.
